Travel Guide

Since Thailand is a foreign destination for most of our guests, we want to help you prepare for your trip with this travel guide.

Transportation

If you are planning to visit Bangkok, these are your options:

- BTS Skytrain or MRT

BTS Skytrain and MRT are both metros but owned by different companies. You need to buy separate tickets if you have to change lines.

- Taxi

Take a taxi with meter or agree on a fixed price ahead of time

- Grab or Bolt

It's the (cheaper) Uber of Thailand

- Tuk Tuk

Tuk Tuk drivers usually ask for a lot of money, so be sure to negotiate with them!

Nice to try: Boat Taxi

We do not recommend renting a car in Bangkok due to its busy traffic.

Places to visit

Bangkok has lots to offer, we've picked few places that we visited and recommended sights.

- Wat Arun (temple)

- The Grand Palace (royal palace/temple)

- China Town

- Khao San Road (party street)

- Asiatique (outdoor shops/market)

- Chatchuchak (weekend market)

- Pratunam market

- Iconsiam (luxury mall with an indoor floating market)

- Siam Paragon Mall (extreme luxury mall)

- Terminal 21 (mall with destination themes)

- MBK mall (affordable mall with nice souvenirs stores)

Useful apps and tips

Bolt or Grab (transportation)

Klook, GetYourGuide or Viator (activities)

Valuta (exchange rate)

Google translate

Thailand's currency is the Baht (THB), and cash payment is preferred. Thus, be sure to bring cash with you. You can exchange money before going to Thailand or once you arrive there.

Super Rich offer good exchange rates and they also have a booth at the airport.

You can purchase an e-sim through Klook or MobiMatter. However, you can also buy a sim card at local 7-Eleven shops or in shopping malls.
